In the sign up form you'll notice that there are 4 ways to participate:Usability study at the Google office - You will use a Google product or prototype, and give feedback on it. You could either meet one on one with a Google researcher, or work as part of a group. Most studies are done at Google's HQ in Mountain View, California, but there are offices all over the world - check them out.Remote usability study - A Google researcher will call you while you sit at your computer, and ask you to try out a Google product or prototype via your internet connection, and give feedback on it. You can be anywhere in the world, but need to have a high-speed internet connection!Field study - Google researchers will come to visit you, and interview you about how you use computers or the Web.Online survey - you answer questions on the web or through email, from your own computer.After you select the type of study, you'll need to answer a few simple questions like "how old are you?", "do you have a job?" or "what languages do you speak?". This set of questions will help Google determine if you're suitable to participate in the study. If you're not suitable, you'll get rejected.If you do get chosen for the study, you'll make easy cash. Google pays you $75 for each hour you spend with a Google researcher, either in person or on the phone. Most studies last for one to one-and-a-half hours.
